Gov. Mike Beebe announced the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program, an agency of the Department of Arkansas Heritage, has awarded $1,649,505 in grants for projects in 35 Arkansas counties, including Benton County. Rogers received an $8,000 grant to provide education and training for the city’s historic district commission and for staff support. Main Street Rogers and Main Street Siloam Springs each received a $5,000 downtown revitalization grant. Other grant recipients included Fort Smith, Eureka Springs and Van Buren, each of which received $4,000 for education and training.
