Stephen McDonald from the Rogers Fire Department sprays water Monday on a controlled burn of a house at 212 S. 13th Street in Rogers. The house and the house next door were donated to the department to use for training before they were demolished. The Rogers Fire Department used the buildings to practice tactics, ventilation options, forcible entry points, search and rescue, and other skills. Bryan Hinds, deputy chief, said burning the building also helps to reduce the amount of waste the property owner will have to remove when tearing down the rest of the building.
