Meredith Spahn of Pea Ridge sprints from the starting line Saturday dressed as a zombie bride during the Halloween 5K and kids 1K fun run in Rogers. Costumes were encouraged in the fundraiser hosted by Rebuilding Together, which repairs and rehabilitates homes for lowincome residents of Washington and Benton counties. About 175 runners took part, said James Hiett, race volunteer. Mike Herbert of Rogers and his dog, Keylo, finished in a dead heat for first place finishing the 3.1-mile course in 18:15. Dawn Ptak of Rogers was the first female finisher at 20:05.
