Buddy Herndon, a counselor at R.E. Baker Elementary School in Bentonville, collects homemade model boats Tuesday to carry to the starting line during boat races along Osage Creek in Rogers. Boat races were part of the school’s outdoor classroom field trip held in the area of Village on the Creeks retail and business center. Students made the boats from common household material such as milk cartons. Other activities included kayaking, bicycling and a climbing wall.
