Springdale firefighters prepare to lift a man Thursday to a gurney to put him into an ambulance at Murphy Park in Springdale. At 8:40 a.m. Springdale Parks and Recreation workers saw the man, who was fishing at the Murphy Park lake, fall forward into the water. The workers pulled him out and started CPR until firefighters arrived. He was taken to Northwest Medical Center-Springdale.

The Sonata was facing south on Bloomington and turning left into the Dairy Queen when it was struck by a silver Toyota Camry heading north. The male passenger in the Sonata was taken to Northwest Medical Center-Springdale.

University of Arkansas officials will demolish the Wesley Foundation campus ministry chapel at 730 W. Maple St. by spring 2014, according to Mike Johnson, associate vice chancellor for facilities. The chapel, designed by Warren Seagraves and built in 1962, and the university’s study abroad office will be turned into two sororities that are colonizing in Fayetteville, Johnson said.

The children will have different projects during the week and use imaginative thinking to solve problems.

The improvement project includes a renovation of an adjacent adult-sized court and will be the site of a youth tennis camp organized by the city Parks and Recreation Department during the first week of July.
